Transition For Transformation Week 2: A Repositioned Life By: Min. Teresa Robinson

A Repositioned Life

During our 2nd week of Advent, let’s look at how we can reposition ourselves to see Jesus clearer than we have all year. Thanks be to God he saw humanity and knew we were in need of a savior, sent Jesus to us, Jesus the Light of the world! John 8:12

Reposition: The return of something to it’s proper position. To place or put in a new position;

to position again. Change places or direction.

If you have ever been sitting in an uncomfortable position, maybe legs crossed for too long time, you may have experienced a leg or foot falling asleep. Your body becomes agitated, and tingling may begin. You might feel numb and stiff. Most likely it will register to your brain that the body, “is in pain!!” You should begin to reposition yourself in your chair to feel more comfortable.

Reflecting on Jesus this Advent season, we see his entrance into a numb and sleeping world void of God’s light. Let us take the opportunity to reposition our lives from unbeliever to believer, from sadness to joy and darkness to light! Amen!

Isaiah 9:2 prophesied and fulfilled in Matthew 4:16 says “the people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” Matthew says, “to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, light has sprung up.” During this Advent season, my prayer is that we reposition ourselves to see the light of Jesus springing up in and around us! Surrounding Jesus’ birth people were watching, praying and waiting for a repositioning on the earth to take place. Some were looking for Messiah to come and the heavens were declaring the Glory of God! Psalm 19. Wise men, began their journey supernaturally guided by the light of Jesus’ star. The Wise men came before king Herod and asked, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

King Herod’s mind, which was anchored in the shadows of death, was a narcissistic, king who loved power and would often reign terror down on those around him. The wise men assumed everyone in Jerusalem would be happy and would embrace this new baby that had been born. They assumed everyone would move, shift and be happy to reposition their lives when they found out Messiah has come! They were wrong, King Herod and his expert scribes weren’t even looking for a Messiah, he told the wise men, “When you find this baby, let me know where he is so I can worship him too”. The wise men found his words not to be true, they departed from the king never to return. Following the star which they had seen in the East and its light that went before them, the star came stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. Matthew 2 The light guided them to where God wanted them to be.

During this Advent season, let’s remember when we decide to reposition our minds and spirits to see Jesus in a clearer way, others may become angry and will not understand our turning. But turn anyway! We love Jesus, but some of us have not moved or shifted, and have sadly fallen away from reaching up to Him this year as we should have. We’ve reached for friends, and we’ve repositioned ourselves toward dark things that gave us no life. We have placed Jesus and his church body on hold. We’ve allowed fear, lethargy and unbelief to cloud our view of his light in us and in the world. We have let newsfeeds, social media, lies and fear seep into our spirits and snuff out the light Jesus put in us.

Despite pain we are to move! Despite our surroundings, we are to reposition ourselves!

We are to actively keep ready our spirits for transformation! It costs much to make transitions and it costs even more to daily not be conformed to this world and be transformed by the renewing our minds. Romans 12:2 What a wonderful sacrifice to make during this Advent season in the midst of so much going on around us. Transform and Reposition to see His light!

Let us be like Simeon, a holy spirit filled devout man that waited and prayed to see Jesus, the consolation and comfort of Israel to be born for us. Luke 2:25-32 “For my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

Simeon got to see and hold the young light of the world, he waited and knew God would reward his faithfulness! Anna, the prophetess was also rewarded for waiting, praying and watching for Jesus, (36-38) Let us too do the same! Without complaining turn! Without murmuring and giving God the “side-eye”, let us reposition ourselves to see his light in our circumstances and in us! Some may ask, “Why should I move?” “I’m ok, it feels good sitting here, my foot might be asleep, and I can’t feel my legs anymore, but I’m good!”, “and anyway, I’m tired of people telling me what I need to do!”

Repositioning Benefits

Our focus on God’s word becomes brighter when we reposition toward Jesus’ light.

During this Advent season amidst many circumstances, this is what will give us strength!

We benefit and get the ability to embrace the justice of God, God’s grace, and his forgiveness to us and others! Love will be seen brighter in our lives once we reposition. We benefit from

Feeling God’s comfort speedily when we reposition our mind and spirit toward his light. We have an expectant faith and hope that God will answer our prayers right quickly with his healing light from the throne room! When we reposition ourselves and face his light, help and ways of escape are sensed, made and taken! Jesus and his word becomes so bright in and around us that it gets very, very difficult to see our problems outweighing his light!

We begin to realize the blood of Jesus covers us and like his disciples, his light is revealed to us far GREATER than we could have ever imagined! Amen!

Matthew 17:1-2

And after six days, Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them; and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

Jesus invites us to see him greater on the Mt. of Transfiguration. We read that he allows his inner glory, his supernatural radiance to shine from the inside out. Jesus on purpose exposes his inner light to be seen by 3 trusted disciples. John 1:14, Peter tells us: “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” This inner glory wasn’t a new thing for Jesus since he was born with it as our King of Glory, but it was new for the disciples and sometimes its new to see for us. Jesus pulled back on his temporary flesh so the 3 of his disciples could get a gaze, a peek, a look at his inner light and reposition their lives for ministry. This experience and his light moved them forward knowing that he truly was the Light of the World, our majestic and wonderful King! Hallelujah!

In most cases, numb feet and numb legs only last for a while. Sometimes when our limbs fall asleep we get annoyed, but eventually our body will go back to feeling normal. Then, there are times when we wait too long to reposition ourselves and times when numbness can really interfere with our ability to function normally. Dull senses and nerves become severely damaged causing much distress. Blood not flowing well and compression on legs and feet can cause long term issues. Blood cut off from nerves and limbs void of a good flow isn’t good in the natural or in the spirit.

Don’t let the cares of this life during this 2nd week of Advent numb your heart and spirit and destroy your ability to see God’s light. Don’t let the news and doubters around you destroy your belief in the blood of Jesus! Jesus was born into the world to save, heal and free us.

My prayer is that we today Move! Move!

Turn! Shift! Pivot! Reposition now! Reposition our minds! Reposition our hearts!

Turn toward His light! Don’t dry up and wither away! Someone needs us to turn and

God needs us to Reposition ourselves for the journey ahead!
